Il Passo degli Ulivi is in the D.O.C. Montecucco wine region, a primarily agricultural area that produces prestigious wines and olive oils.
The agriturismo is also on the border of the renowned Brunello di Montalcino wine region. The town of Montalcino is less than a half hour's drive away. Il Passo degli Ulivi can be used as a base for visiting the whole of the Val d'Orcia area including the picturesque town of Pienza and the beautiful abbey of Sant'Antimo.
Just south of the agriturismo you can visit the vineyards of the Morellino di Scansano and travelling west takes you to the region that produces the Monteregio di Massa Marittima wine. Both are local wines of excellent quality.
In addition to the excellent wines to be found in the area surrounding Il Passo degli Ulivi, many different local food products are produced. Pienza is famous for its cheese, and Monte Amiata and the many olive groves of the Upper Maremma produce olive oil of exceptional quality.
The agriturismo itself is surrounded by olive trees and vineyards.
